Computing ITT & CPD
A really useful collection of computing resources can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/primaryictitt/home. This site was originally set up for ITT students but is useful for all of us!
SEN Computing wikispace
SEN computing wikispace has been set up by the Sheffield eLearning Team, together with teachers in special schools around the UK to look at how the 2014 Computing Curriculum can be adapted for students with special needs and disabilities.
The site has a few activity ideas for P levels and KS1 – KS3 and will build over time.
Problem-solving activities that require sequencing and logical reasoning for KS1
There are a number of iBoard activities available on the LGfL site that support the development and practice of problem solving. They can be accessed at iboard.lgfl.net or specific activities can be embedded or linked to from your MLE as in the example below:

10 Things to try
- Create a poster using the camera e.g. a wanted poster
- Make a personalised jigsaw puzzle using the camera
- Produce a communication aid by adding pictures and linking to sound files
- Create a portfolio/ learning journal by taking pictures of your work and writing or recording your comments
- Create QR codes for a treasure hunt or for information about areas of the school or displays.
- Work collaboratively on a document where each group creates one page of a presentation e.g. the makaton sign for key words
- Make an interactive Christmas calendar
- Create a class blog
- Create a branching story
- Create a group website

Code.org provides online tutorials to get you started with programming using blocks that you can drag and drop to build programs just like Scratch. The tutorials go in easy steps that build your understanding of repeat -loops and conditionals. It also includes videos starring Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.
